Virtual Reality and Interaction Lab

The Virtual Reality and Interaction (VRI) lab is an initiative within the Department of Information Science at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. It concentrates on using XR (extended reality) technology to create interactive user experiences for various applications. The main aim is to use commercial XR technologies to create user-centered solutions for complex problems from both academic and industry perspectives.

In order to contribute towards increasing the use of XR technology, the VRI lab consists of three components:

VRI Research: Ensuring that XR technology solutions are effective as well as creating usable and interactive user experiences through rigorous research.

VRI Develop: Developing XR technology solutions for research and application through collaboration from academia and industry.

VRI Educate: Training the future developers, designers and researchers in cutting-edge XR technologies.
